DPO REDEPLOYED

The Lagos Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered the redeployment of Denton Divisional Police Officer in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos State, CSP Adegoke Atilade.

His redeployment followed an alleged office escapade with a 29-year-old woman, Jennifer Madueke, which led to his missing service pistol.

The incident, according to reports, happened on Friday, August 27, 2021.

The Command’s spokesman, Adekunle Ajisebutu, In a statement said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough probe into the case.

Ajisebutu said a new DPO will resume at the station anytime from now, but refused to disclose the new place of assignment of the embattled officer.

It will be recalled that Atilade arrested Madueke over his missing gun. He had also transferred her to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, after detaining her for three days at the Denton Police Station, Ebute Meta, Lagos.

It was learnt that Madueke and Atilade once dated and separated after the police officer was transferred out of Lagos over seven years ago but the duo continued after the married officer was posted back to Lagos recently.

“She was my girlfriend in 2011, but we separated. About one and a half months ago, while I was around the Stadium area, she came to greet me and that was how she knew where I was working and she started coming. When her coming did not favour me, I told her not to come again,” the embattled officer said.

Narrating what happened on August 27, Atilade had said, “On that Friday, I was at a club with one of my friends. It was there a girlfriend came to meet me. Then this lady came later. I never knew that she had a mission. I sent her away and said I was busy.

“The other lady with me told me that she was going to Bariga. She [Madueke] also came but said she could not get a vehicle to her residence that night because it was late. I then left them (both ladies) in the office and went out on a night patrol.

“It was then I started thinking I would go back and wake them up. When I returned, I gave her N4,000 (transport fare) to go.”

Asked if he slept with Madueke, Atilade had said, “When two people are in my office? I did not sleep with her. I left them there. Unknown to me, she had gone to pick a bag behind my chair. It was when she left that I discovered that my pistol was missing, with N50,000. I did not even care about the money, but I started calling her, and she did not pick the calls. She also blocked me on WhatsApp.

“We went to prayer houses and consulted alfas, me and the other girl, but we did not find her. I did not see her for one week. I paid people who tracked her.”

Atilade had said he regretted ‘helping’ Madueke that night when she claimed to be stranded, adding that after she was arrested, she denied taking the gun but admitted to ‘stealing’ N7,000 from the bag.

Though he denied sleeping with the lady, a source disclosed that the police officer had invited the lady and slept with her till Saturday morning.

Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers, says he will not govern the state from a position of subservience or weakness.

Fubara made the remarks on Saturday, during a condolence visit to the Ubima, Ikwerre LGA country home of Celestine Omehia, a former governor of the state.

Omehia was laying Cecilia Omehia, his mother, to rest.

“I have come here with very few respected elders of the state, to come and support you and say to you that we sorrow with you,” Fubara said.

“The most important thing is to show our concern and love. Any human being who shows enmity to death, that person is not even normal.

“We also rejoice with you for a life lived well to fulfilment by Mama. We wish Mama a safe journey. Let her stay well where she has gone.”

He said politics of bitterness will impede the development of the state and that “it is only in unity that we can move our state forward”.

“Anybody who claims to love this state should not be party to anything, directly or indirectly that will bring us backwards. We will continue to support every course that will advance the interests of our dear Rivers state,” he added.

“And I am happy to say, and I’ve said it over and again, it doesn’t matter the number of people that are standing with me, I will stand on that side of truth.

“I will not, I repeat, I will not govern our dear state on my knees. If that was the purpose, I will not do that.”

Fubara has been locked in a battle for the control of the political structure of Rivers with Nyesom Wike, his predecessor and minister of the federal capital territory (FCT).

The governor recently redeployed some members of his cabinet who are loyal to Wike.

Olatosho Oshoffa, son of the Founder, Celestial Church of Christ, Worldwide, Bilewu Oshoffa, has revealed how the late spiritual leader managed his 13 wives and 53 children during his lifetime.

The cleric, popularly known as Tosho, is the shepherd of CCC International Headquarters, Ketu, Lagos.

Tosho is the 10th son and the 20th child of the late CCC founder.

He stressed the love among the family members, including the wives and many children while noting that their late father used to tell them, “Never say you are a son or daughter to any of my wives. But tell yourself, you are a son of Oshoffa.”

Unlike it’s seen in some polygamous families where children see themselves from different mothers, Tosho said his father used the “girdle of love to tie us together. So we don’t see ourselves as children of our various mothers but as children of Oshoffa.”

Tosho stated that the children related well while their father was alive, and even after his demise.

“And that is the same way we related when he (Oshoffa) was still in this world and has been doing after his demise. Even as of today, the remaining Oshoffa wives that were younger to my mother, I still refer to them as my mother, because of the love that our father (Oshoffa) has used to bind us together. So, we all remain one as SBJ Oshoffa children,” he said.

The shepherd of the CCC International Headquarters in the Ketu area of Lagos noted that the multitude of children in the family had never been a problem.

He said, “We, the children know ourselves, and up till now, I can tell you that we know the number of wives that gave birth to this number of children for my father. So, we know ourselves and relate very well.

“There is one love in the family, no matter how many we are. The number of children is 53, but we are all in one love and one accord.”

Tosho equally quelled the controversy that Oshoffa had more than 53 children, saying, “He left behind 13 wives and 53 children. Many people have said he had 100 children and so on. But no.”
