1. The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has urged top chieftains of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, to unite under the party to safeguard Nigeria’s democracy.
The call came amid the leadership crisis rocking the ADC, culminating in the derecognition of the David Mark-led leadership of the party and Nafiu Bala Gombe faction by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
2. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has reacted to the call made by the African Democratic Congress, ADC, for its Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, to resign immediately. During their World Press Conference in Abuja on Thursday, ADC, through its national Chairman, David Mark, called for the sack or resignation of Amupitan, alleging partisan bias.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has explained to the Federal High Court in Abuja why the 57 properties linked to a former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, should be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government. The EFCC, in a motion on notice for final forfeiture of the properties filed by its team of lawyers led by Jibrin Okutepa, SAN, and Ekele Iheanacho, SAN, told Justice Joyce Abdulmalik that Malami had failed to place sufficient evidence of genuine ownership before the court to warrant the court to vacate the earlier interim order granted on the properties.
4. President Bola Tinubu on Thursday visited Plateau State to console victims of the March 29 gunmen attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, which left at least 27 people dead and several others injured. During the visit, the President met with families affected by the violence, including a grieving mother whose emotional moment holding the body of her slain son, Ayuba, in a viral video generated widespread reactions across Nigeria.

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu over the ongoing crisis in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the situation as a betrayal of democratic ideals. Obi, in a post on X on Thursday, said it was ironic that individuals who once positioned themselves as defenders of democracy and human rights during the era of Sani Abacha were now allegedly undermining those same principles.
6. Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested a 25-year-old woman, Nafisa Usman, who was in possession of 220 rounds of ammunition concealed in garri in Kano. Usman, a native of Zango Village in Kankara Local Council of Katsina State, was intercepted at a motor park while taking delivery of the ammunition, a security source disclosed.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has called on the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to provide a detailed account of over N158 trillion in foreign loans allegedly secured within the last three years. Addressing a press conference in Abuja, the SDP National Chairman, Sadiq Abubakar Gombe, said there was little visible evidence to suggest that a significant portion of the borrowed funds had been invested in infrastructure development.
10. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday delivered a strong message of reassurance and resolve to the people of Plateau State: the wave of deadly attacks will end. Standing before grieving residents, families of victims, traditional rulers, community and religious leaders, as well as government officials at the Yakubu Gowon airport venue in Jos, Tinubu reiterated that the March 29 killings in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, would not be repeated.
