Published

on

The Lagos state government has listed 176 estate developments as illegal.

The estates are predominantly located in the Eti-Osa, Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, and Epe areas.

The state has also handed the concerned parties a 21-day ultimatum to process their layout approvals.

According to Oluwole Sotire, the permanent secretary of the office of physical planning, the estates are deemed illegal due to failure to obtain layout approvals from the ministry of physical planning and urban development.

He said the estates compromised the sustainable development agenda of the Lagos state government.

Sotire said the owners of the estates have been allotted a window to submit the necessary documents to his office for processing.

The president’s special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement that Tinubu “expressed profound joy” over the successful rescue of the victims.

Onanuga said the president commended the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the police “for working round the clock in the last 56 days to secure the release of the abducted children and their teachers without any collateral damage and for arresting eight of the abductors and neutralising others.”
