VeryDarkMan: Why I shared Bobrisky’s recording

Published

on

VeryDarkMan, the controversial activist, has denied claims that he shared a defamatory statement against Femi Falana, the human rights lawyer.

VeryDarkMan recently shared a purported audio conversation wherein Bobrisky, the social media celebrity, claimed that Falana and Falz, his son, contacted her.

In the recording, Bobrisky alleged that she spoke with Falz in prison and that the rapper and his dad “tried to get me a presidential pardon in exchange for N10,000,000″.

Responding to the allegation on Wednesday, Falana described it as a “vicious and reckless” attempt to “impugn my reputation”.

Falana issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Abuja-based activist to retract his statement “to avoid legal remedies”.

In his reaction, VeryDarkMan, through Deji Adeyanju, his legal representative, denied putting out a defamatory statement against the human rights lawyer.

The activist clarified that releasing the voice recordings was to prompt a thorough investigation into Bobrisky’s allegations, not to defame Falana

He stressed that he holds Falana in high esteem for his human rights activism in Nigeria and believes an investigation is necessary instead of pursuing defamation charges.

“Our client denies defaming Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, a renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria and globally recognised human rights activist, but asserts that he only published the said communication with a view to getting the relevant agencies, and even your client, to initiate a thorough investigation into the far-reaching allegations made by Mr. Okuneye in the said voice recording, especially as some element of the voice recording has been confirmed by Mr. Folarin Falana in his solicitor’s letter of September 25, 2024,” the letter reads in part.

“Our client holds Mr. Femi Falana, SAN in very high esteem and recognises his commitment to the protection of human rights and rule of law in Nigeria. It is in the light of the foregoing that our client believes that the appropriate line of action in the circumstance is an interagency investigation into the allegations contained in the voice recording, rather than pursuing a case of defamation.”

VeryDarkMan also disclosed that Falana is his go-to person when in trouble, adding that “he is on my emergency contact”.

He insisted that he only said he would be disappointed if Falana were involved in the allegations.

“I only reacted to the call Bobrisky made in which he made allegations that he alleged that Uncle Femi Falana and Falz collected N10 million. And what I said is I choose not to believe that Uncle Femi Falana is associated with that and if, I would be disappointed because of his position in society,” he said in an Instagram video.

“I had an option of cutting the video where he mentioned Falz, but I refused because I wanted a thorough investigation into the matter. I have another one to post. That is from a totally different person. The EFCC was named, and the comptroller general was named.

“If Bobrisky was lying, he should face the law for using somebody as big as uncle Femi Falana to do something like that. Uncle Femi Falana is my emergency contact if a big person with influence holds me.”

Falz also demanded a retraction from VeryDarkMan.

Responding, VeryDarkMan argued that he did not defame the rapper. He also said he is ready to appear in court.

Eniola Fagbemi, popular social media personality, better known as Sisi Alagbo, has apologised for the leaked threesome sex tape involving her, husband (Adesola Hakeem), and another woman.

Sisi Alagbo, popular on social media for selling herbal concoction, has received knocks from Nigerians who have condemned her for the video.

Speaking following the rains of condemnations that have trailed the video, Fagbemi revealed the struggles she’s going through, adding that she has been unable to sleep for days and that even sleeping medications had not worked for her since the video broke out on the internet.

Taking to her verified Facebook account, the internet sensation wrote, “I own my mistakes, and I apologize with all sincerity for the video circulating online. I am deeply sorry to everyone who felt disappointed in me.

“This is a great phase for me, and I pray for God’s forgiveness and my fans’ forgiveness, please let’s move on past this because this media is where I get little support to feed, pls don’t condemn me or castigate me am already passing through a lot,

‘I can’t eat or sleep for days, even sleeping meds aren’t working for me anymore, I am deeply sorry, everyone. Please forgive me, I don’t want to injure myself, it’s only the little strength I have.”

Fagbemi broke into the internet after showcasing her craft and promoting her grandmother’s business to the world, including China and Qatar.

She again became a social media sensation after a heart-warming encounter with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen in Morocco, at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

In the short video she shared online, she respectfully knelt to greet the football star, and the video quickly went viral, sparking widespread reactions and conversations across social platforms.

Responding to critics who questioned her action at the time, she wrote, “You are dragging me because I knelt down to greet Osimhen. I did not know that being respectful is now a crime. Osimhen is wealthier and more famous than me. Do you even know how elites and influential people all over the world are eager to meet him? For Osimhen to come down to my level — me, an ordinary agbo hawker from the trenches — I need to give him maximum respect.

“Just the video I posted, I already know what I have gained from it. People from Ibadan have told me that all the agbo in my store have been sold out. Everyone in Morocco is rushing to taste the agbo I brought. If I see Osimhen again, I will kneel down to greet him as a proper Yoruba girl that I am. I am a beautiful story.”

For Zaynab, philanthropy is not a seasonal obligation or a public relations gesture; it is a way of life.
