‘Big head, wide mouth, tribal marks’ — police describe blogger declared wanted for ‘murder’

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has declared one Dorcas Adeyinka wanted in connection with alleged murder.

 

The police also alleged that the suspect is linked with cyber-stalking, abduction, murder, injurious falsehood, threat to life and extortion.

 

In a post on X, the police described the suspect as 1.64m tall.

 

The force highlighted other attributes of the suspect to include “big chin, full lip, wide mouth, and a large head” size.

 

The police said the suspect hails from Ekiti state but lives in the UK and frequently visits Ikeja, Fagba, Ogudu, and Sango.

The description of the suspect has sparked reactions on social media.

VIDEOS: NDLEA intercepts Saudi-bound cocaine shipment at Lagos hotel

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency officers on Wednesday stormed a hotel catching suspects preparing to ingest 200 wraps of cocaine.

 

The operation, based on intelligence, targeted individuals attempting to smuggle drugs to Saudi Arabia for the ongoing Hajj pilgrimage.

The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, shared the information via his X account on Thursday, along with a video showing the intercepted contraband.

Sharing a video, he wrote, “Caught in the Act: They were preparing to swallow 200 wraps of cocaine ahead of their flight to the ongoing hajj in Saudi Arabia Wednesday night and #ndlea_nigeria officers stormed their hotel rooms in an intel led ops. Details shortly”

25 Ajayi Crowther varsity students arraigned for beating fellow student to death, remanded in prison

Twenty-five students of the Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo State were on Wednesday arraigned before Chief Magistrate Court in connection with the murder of Alex Timileyin, a student who was beaten to death by his colleagues for allegedly stealing a mobile phone.

 

The students, aged between 18 and 34, have been remanded in prison until July 8 pending trial.

 

An activist from Itsekiri in the Warri Kingdom, Delta State identified as ‘Lord Of Warri’ disclosed the development on X.com.

It would be recalled that Timileyin was beaten to death inside a hostel known as Shepherd Inn on the school premises by a group of other students for allegedly stealing a mobile phone.

He was said to have been beaten from 6pm on Friday to about 10am on Saturday.

The activist, who is a relative of the deceased, had earlier petitioned the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, urging the governor to ensure that those behind the murder were brought to justice.

In an update on X on Wednesday, ‘Lord Of Warri’ wrote, “Today June 5, 25 students were arraigned in court in connection with the tragic murder of Prince Alex Timileyin, a son of the Warri Kingdom and a student at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo.

 

“The court has remanded them in prison until July 8, pending trial.

“We appreciate the efforts of the Oyo State Government and the Oyo State Police Command in pursuing justice and ensuring that the perpetrators are held accountable.

 

“We await the trial and expect that justice will be served in its entirety.”

Court orders forfeiture of N11.14bn choice properties linked to Emefiele

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday granted an order of interim forfeiture of properties valued at N11,140,000,000.00 linked to the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele.

 

Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke made the order sequel to a motion exparte filed and argued by the counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Rotimi Oyedepo who led Bilkisu Buhari-Bala and Chineye Okezie in the proceedings.

 

The court ordered the interim forfeiture of the properties to the Federal Government.

 

Oyedepo informed the court that Emefiele was suspected of having bought the choice properties by proxy, with the proceeds of fraud. The properties are mostly located in highbrow parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

 

The EFCC also named three CBN Staff, Obayemi Oluwaseun Teben Akomolafe Adebayo and Olubunmi Makinde as Emefiele’s accomplices who used their positions and influence to secure retail and special allocation of foreign exchange to different companies in exchange for kickbacks.

Justice Aneke has ordered the EFCC to publish the order in the newspaper for any interested party to show cause why the final order of forfeiture should not be made.

 

The judge adjourned till the 21st of June for the hearing of the motion for final forfeiture.
