A source who lives in the Epe area said the banks attacked were; Zenith, Access and Keystone banks.

Pictures have also emerged online showing banks in the area with broken glasses. It was gathered that many banks have temporarily suspended operations in the area as a result of the attacks.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, also confirmed the attacks on some banks in the area.

On Friday morning fighting erupted in some areas on the popular Lagos-Ikorodu Expressway in Lagos State over the scarcity of the new naira notes and the hardship the policy had thrown at Nigerians.

It was gathered that suspected louts in Mile 12, Ketu and Ojota areas on the expressway took to the streets attacking commuters and creating chaos.

It was also reported that pockets of protests had broken out in Agege, Iyana-Ipaja and Igando areas of the state over the naira crisis.
