The Nollywood industry has been hit with another sad loss following the death of legendary Yoruba actor, Ayobami Mudashir Olabiyi, popularly known as Bobo B.

The popular Yoruba actor was reportedly pronounced dead after a period of illness.

According to reports, Olabiyi, who was supposed to be on a movie set in Oyo last month, could not make it due to his deteriorating health.

He was said to have been admitted to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State, where he was reportedly unable to speak or move before his death.

The heartbreaking news was made public by the Oyo State governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Yeye Bose Akinola, who confirmed that Olabiyi, until his death, was the National Secretary of TAMPAN and had previously served as the governor of the association in Oyo State.

A statement credited to Akinola said, “I have a directive of the Oyo State TAMPAN governor, Her Excellency Yeye Bose Akinola, to announce the death of our TAMPAN National General Secretary, Chief Alhaji Musadshir Ayobami Olabiyi ‘Bobo B.’ May God give his family and the entire TAMPAN members globally the fortitude to bear the loss. Insha Allah, Amen.”

Davido, Wizkid using rift to stay relevant- Portable

Portable has weighed in on the ongoing rift between Davido and Wizkid, suggesting their feud is a calculated move to promote their music.

The two music heavyweights recently teased their separate forthcoming projects — an album by Wizkid and a song by Davido.

On Tuesday, Wizkid reignited their rift — after Davido announced his first single of 2024.

The ‘Made In Lagos’ hitmaker also taunted Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle who is governor of Osun state.

Wizkid mocked Adeleke for his numerous dance videos online. He also implied that the Adeleke family “lacks a proper upbringing”.

Registering his opinion via Instagram post, Portable argued that they are no longer marketable and are relying on online rift to promote their projects.

He advised the singers to focus on self-improvement rather than using each other for attention.

“Don’t use your brother to shine+ shine by yourself una songs no dey market again na fight una dey use do promotion,” he wrote.

“Let’s forget fake promotion I get hit songs portable is bigger than them who is big is big we no gather dey na only me dey God dey omolalomi chosen one.”

Portable emphasized his neutrality, urging the singers to concentrate on their craft rather than “manufactured drama”.

“Me I no dey for Davido for me. I no dey for Wizkid I dey for myself that’s why I dey for those who dey for me chosen one,” he added.
