How I lost ₦114m to robbers in Spain – Kiddwaya

Published

on

Kiddwaya, an ex-housemate of the BBNaija TV show, says he was recently robbed on the Spanish island of Ibiza.

The reality TV star, in a now-deleted social media post, said it is the second time he has been robbed in the tourist destination.

Kiddwaya said his villa on the island was raided and €70,000 was carted away alongside other valuables.

He shared some safety tips for Nigerians who are looking to visit the European country.

Kiddwaya said he suspects the robberies are often jointly planned by domestic workers in the city.

“For the second time, I was robbed in Ibiza at the villa I was staying in. The last time it happened was in 2022. They stole watches and money. Then this time, it happened around 3 am. They came in and stole about €70,000; stole girls’ Birkin bags,” he said.

“I’m making this video to let all my rich Nigerians who travel to all these places know. Be careful with all these villas because what they do is a sting operation. From cleaners to taxi drivers and the police, everybody is involved. It is a long operation and they are all involved.

“Nigerians who have money and are travelling to Europe, if you are going to a villa, be very careful. Make sure you have extra security. Make sure you have bouncers and people walking on the property day and night.

“Don’t get a regular taxi; always have a private driver because these local taxis are all in on it. Also, be careful with your maid; she is the one who goes into the room and knows where the money is and where everything is kept.

“So if you’re travelling to Europe this summer and trying to get a villa,  be very guided and careful.”

A loss of about €70,000 at an exchange rate of ₦1,635/Euro amounts to about ₦114,450,000 in Nigeria.

Ibiza is considered to be a popular tourist destination due to its well-known club-based nightlife.

The city has garnered a reputation as the “party capital of the world” and often features in pop music to depict luxury.
