80-year-old man ‘stabbed wife to death for refusing to have sex after he took Viagra’

An 80-year-old Italian man has stabbed his wife to death after she promised to have sex with him at Christmas, but changed her mind and refused after he took Viagra.

Vito Cangini has been accused of killing his wife Natalia Kyrychok, 61, because she refused to have sex with him after he took a Viagra pill while at home in Fanano di Gradara, eastern Italy, on December 25.

Ms Kyrychok’s refusal prompted a furious row, during which Mr Cangini, who was almost 20 years older than his wife, accused her of being attracted to her boss.

Natalia Kyrychok, 61, was 19 years younger than Mr Cangini and changed her mind about wanting to have sex with him on the night of December 25 after he took Viagra.

Mr Cangini allegedly stabbed her to death, left his wife’s bloodied body on the floor and went to bed.

The following morning, he reportedly ate breakfast, walked his dog and came home as if nothing had happened.

He allegedly took his dog for another walk in the afternoon before he phoned the restaurant where his wife had worked as a chef for two years and told the owner he would never see her again.

The 80-year-old allegedly stabbed his wife to death, went to sleep, and took his dog for two walks the next day before he called his wife’s boss and said he would never see Ms Kyrychok again.

‘I know there was something going on between you two,’ Cangini reportedly told the owner.

The restaurant owner called the police, who visited the suspect’s home.

Officers found Ms Kyrychok’s body with at least four stab wounds including one to the heart.

Mr Cangini was taken into custody and the suspected murder weapon was found at the crime scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

1. Normalcy is gradually returning to the supply and distribution chain of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) or petrol, after the scarcity of the product in the last three weeks. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) blamed the development on “logistics” issues. The return of normalcy was not unconnected with the opening up of reserves by the NNPCL for supply to the marketers.

4. Beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s N50,000 grant for nano business owners have started receiving credit alerts. The Department of State Services, DSS, has sealed AL-Ihsan Clinic in the Unguwan Rogo community in Jos North LGA of Plateau State due to allegations of quackery and the reported death of a female patient. It was learnt that the death of the woman last week following a surgery performed by one Mr Abdul Lukman sparked reactions in the area, with many attributing the death to the surgery, which subsequently raised concerns about Abdul’s medical speciality.

 

6. The value of Nigeria’s currency in circulation has risen to N3.87tn at the end of March. According to the latest money and credit statistics on the website of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the currency in circulation was N3.87tn, higher than N3.69tn in February and N3.65tn in January.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have intercepted 511 jumbo sacks of cannabis sativa weighing 4,752kg concealed in the gas tank compartment of a truck along the Abuja-Abaji highway. The agency in a statement on Sunday said the operatives on a stop-and-search operation along the highway on Wednesday, May 1, intercepted the 40-ft gas tanker marked RBC 77XG and upon a thorough search discovered the sacks.

10. Another Improvised Explosive Device, IED, planted along Maiduguri-Dikwa-Gamboru Ngala road has killed seven people, including a telecommunication expert, Mallam Abbashuwa Bulamarwa. The incident took place, weekend, when their vehicles drove on the planted IED in-between Dikwa and Logomani village, about 80kms drive from Maiduguri.

Shettima to attend US-Africa business summit

Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Dallas, United States of America, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa.

A statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha says the Vice President will join other political and business leaders across Africa, the United States of America and beyond for the summit featuring high-level dialogues, networking business sessions and the plenary.

 

Among African leaders expected at the summit include, President Joseph Boakai of the Republic of Liberia; President Lazarus Chakwera of the Republic of Malawi; President Joao Lourenço of the Republic of Angola; President Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi of the Republic of Botswana; President José Maria Neves of the Republic of Cabo Verde, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Honourable Nthomeng Majara.

Besides the summit plenary, Senator Shettima is expected to speak at the Roundtable on African Infrastructure Investment with a focus on impact and returns.

He is also scheduled to speak on a high-level panel on agribusiness, focusing on transiting “from food insecurity to thriving agribusinesses”.

Popular Lagos family rejects son’s marriage with actress, Wofai Ewa

The Coles, a prominent family of Victoria Island, Lagos, has denounced the recent purported marriage of their son, Taiwo, to actress and comedian, Wofai Ewa, in a traditional ceremony in Ugep, Cross River State.

In a statement issued by the family patriarch, Kunle Cole, which has since gone viral, the family dissociated themselves from the union, saying they were unaware of the marriage plans and did not grant consent or support.

“This serves to notify all acquaintances, family and friends that the Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos, are not aware of any marriage ceremony of our son,Taiwo Olakitan Cole; neither did we grant permission nor support in this regard,” the statement read.

It continued, “As such, person(s) parading themselves as new members of the Cole heritage by virtue of this purported event, are not known nor accepted by the family. All publications and documents being circulated about this are to be disregarded.”

The rebuke follows circulated images and videos showing Taiwo participating in what appeared to be a traditional marriage rite with Ewa, who hails from Ugep in Cross River.

 

Wofai and Taiwo took to their Instagram pages on Saturday to share marriage photos.


One of the posts read, “I found my happily ever after, and I said yes !! Chai !! Love is sweet o. Thank you guys for all the love and messages.”

Wofai, who has over a million followers on Instagram, is a chef, actress and comedian.
