1. Marketers of petroleum products have stated that the loading of fuel has been put on hold at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery following the facility’s decision to sell fuel in dollars.
Many marketers told The PUNCH on Sunday that the facility was not even loading its trucks, sparking fear of possible fuel tightness across the country. But the refinery denied the claim, arguing that fuel loading was ongoing within the Lekki-based plant.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, will today inaugurate an ad hoc committee to investigate the controversial inclusion of the unestablished Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council in the 2026 Appropriation Act. This comes amid fresh criticism over the exclusion of the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, from the list of invited witnesses.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has intercepted 1.63 million pills of tramadol concealed in two long trailers heading for Kano as it intensified efforts to dismantle a transnational drug trafficking syndicate operating along the Togo-Benin Republic-Nigeria corridor. The agency also arrested an 80-year-old suspected drug dealer in Rivers State, a businesswoman linked to cannabis shipments from Canada, a Chadian woman, a couple and other suspects in coordinated operations across Lagos, Edo, Kogi and Rivers states.

Troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade operating under Operation UDO KA have dismantled a kidnapping syndicate in Imo State, recovering suspected ransom proceeds and a vehicle allegedly used in the crime. The Nigerian Army disclosed this in a statement posted on its X handle on Sunday and signed by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 82 Division Nigerian Army, Lt. Col. Olabisi Olalekan Ayeni.

One of the teachers rescued after spending 56 days in the custody of kidnappers in Oyo State, Zacchaeus Olatunde, has claimed that he and the other captives were released by their abductors before security personnel eventually escorted them home. Olatunde made the claim during a telephone interview with Nigeria Info FM aired on Friday while recounting the ordeal of teachers and pupils abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Sixteen governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, seeking a second-term mandate will be given priority as the party commences the digital upload of all its governorship and State Houses of Assembly candidates on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Candidate Nomination Portal, ICNP. The Acting Military Information Officer, OPHK, Capt. Mohammed Goni, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Maiduguri. Goni said troops equally rescued all 46 students targeted in the attack.
