Professor Ojo Emmanuel Ademola has hailed celebrated journalist and Public affairs analyst, Louis Odion, on the conferment of a National Honour on him by President Bola Tinubu.

Ojo, a Professor of Cyber Security, described the honour as well-deserved, adding, “This national recognition is a testament to your unwavering integrity, your distinguished contributions to public communication, and your consistent commitment to nation‑building.”

Odion, a well-celebrated journalist, has won several awards, including the Nigerian Media Merit Award, and several other awards, began his career at the defunct Concord Press.

In recognition of his zeal and dedication to the job, Odion was appointed as the Deputy Editor of Sunday Concord. At different times, he was the Deputy Editor of the Saturday and Sunday titles of ThisDay Newspapers.

He was later appointed as the pioneer Abuja Editor of the paper.

He later joined The Sun Newspaper as the pioneer editor of the publication’s Sunday Sun, a title he built into global prominence.

Odion would later team up with some colleagues to start the National Life Newspaper, where he worked as the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief. Like a golden fish that he is, he was sought-after by the then Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomole, to be the state’s Commissioner for Information.

His opinion piece, titled Bottom Line, with which he hit the nail on the head with his incisive and thought-provoking piece on national issues set him apart from the crowd.

Congratulations sir, Chief Louis Odion
