1. No fewer than 45 pupils have been reported abducted during the Friday attack on three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The schools attacked were Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota; Community Grammar School, Esiele; and L.A. Primary School. Sunday PUNCH gathered that tension is rising in the state following the incident.

Jonathan Ukodhiko and other aspirants have emerged winners of the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primary elections held across Delta State ahead of the 2027 general elections. At the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency primary, Elumelu secured the APC ticket.

The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Professor Julius Ihonvbere has lost his bid to return to the Green Chamber after losing out in the All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives primary election for the Owan Federal Constituency. The Returning Officer, Kelvin Muhammed announced that Hon Andrew Ijegbai a former Commissioner for Mining won the election scoring 3695.

Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister, Nyesom Wike has directed that all casualties from Saturday’s building collapse in Abuja’s Gudu district receive free medical treatment, as rescue teams pulled one survivor from the debris more than nine hours after a three-storey structure caved in, killing five people.

8. Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the death of 17 police officers following a terrorist attack on the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State. It was gathered that the officers were undergoing special operational training when the attackers struck the facility in the early hours of May 8, in what authorities described as a coordinated assault.
9. No foreign soldier participated in the operation that eliminated terrorist commander, Abu Bilal Al-Minuki, Maj.-Gen. Michael Onoja, Director, Defence Media Operations, has said. Onoja said this in a monitored television programme where he gave update on the operation.
10. Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Dr Benjamin Kalu, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress candidate for Bende Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 General Elections. Kalu was elected unopposed during Saturday’s primary election of the party in Bende.
