A Colombian military transport plane carrying troops crashed on Monday in a forested part of the country, according to reports.
The aircraft, a Lockheed Martin Hercules C-130, was lifting off from Puerto Leguízamo, a town on the Putumayo River across from Peru, when it went down, said Defense Minister Pedro Sanchez.
The country’s Defense Minister, Pedro Sánchez, confirmed the crash on Monday.
“Military units are already at the scene. However, the number of victims and the causes of the accident have not yet been precisely determined,” the minister reportedly said on X.
