1. President Donald Trump said Friday that only Iran’s “unconditional surrender” would bring an end to the Middle East war, as Tehran was rocked by some of the heaviest US-Israeli strikes of the spiralling, week-long conflict.
Now in its seventh day, the war has embroiled nations beyond the region, upended the world’s energy and transport sectors, and brought chaos to even usually peaceful areas around the Gulf.
2. President Bola Tinubu yesterday asked Nigerians to resist the temptation of succumbing to fear in the face of terror attacks in parts of the country. He said his administration was doing everything within its power to defeat terrorism
3. President Bola Tinubu vowed on Friday to crush terrorism and restore peace across Nigeria, assuring troops “we will win” as he hosted an interfaith iftar at the State House, Abuja. Speaking amid the recent Ngoshe attack in Borno’s Gwoza LGA, Tinubu declared: “Nigeria will prevail.”
4. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors, comprising 31 non-career and 34 career diplomats, to Nigeria’s foreign missions across the world and the United Nations. The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
5. Wives of Nigerian military officers detained over an alleged attempt to overthrow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu staged a protest in Abuja on Friday. The protesters, who were flanked by human rights activists, Omoyele Sowore and Barrister Deji Adeyanju, converged on the Federal Capital Territory, demanded open trial of their husbands.
6. The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, says it arrested two suspected bandits during an intelligence-led operation in Saminaka Community, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara. The suspects, Abubakar Jubril, 28, and Mohammed Abubakar, 26, were apprehended on Tuesday, 3rd March 2026, following sustained surveillance by operatives of the command.
7. A Federal Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday, asked the two factions of the Peoples Democratic Party to resolve their differences amicably in the interest of the party. Justice Biobele Georgewill-led appellate court gave the advice at the hearing of appeals filed before it by the two factions.
8. Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised several terrorists, including some of their key leaders, during midnight attacks while the insurgents attempted to overrun four military locations across Borno State. The attacks, which lasted for over five hours between Thursday and Friday, occurred around Konduga, Marte, Jakana and Mainok.
9. The Nigeria Police Force in Ondo State has arrested four suspected kidnappers linked to a violent attack along Liberty Avenue in Ilu-Abo that led to the death of a resident and the abduction of a woman. The suspects were arrested by operatives of the Ondo State Police Command following intelligence reports that they were lodging in a hotel behind Ado Garage in Akure.
10. A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail of N200 million each to a former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN), his wife, Asabe Bashir and son, Abdulaziz. The three are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on money laundering charges involving about N8.7billion.
