‎1. The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party escalated on Saturday following the expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and 10 other high-ranking leaders over alleged anti-party activities.

The decision was taken at the PDP’s 20th National Convention at the main bowl of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

2. Preparations are in top gear in Jalingo for the formal declaration of Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas for the All Progressives Congress, APC. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, November 19, 2025 when he will be received into the party by its leaders.

3. An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Hon. Umar Sarkin Fada Moriki, has been killed by yet to be identified gunmen. The politician was gunned down near Fegi village, close to Gidan Dawa in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, in the early hours of Saturday.

4. Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), has vowed that his second term in office will bring an intensified crackdown on drug barons and trafficking networks across the country. Marwa, reappointed by President Bola Tinubu for another five-year term, told jubilant staff at the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja that traffickers should expect no respite.

5. Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has kicked against the decision to expel Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. In a statement on Saturday, the governor said the decision is not in the best interest of the party.

6. The Nigerian Army has confirmed that troops of 25 Task Force Brigade in Borno State ran into an ambush laid by terrorists. Appolonia Anele, Acting Director, Army Public Relations, who confirmed the attack in a statement, said the troops were ambushed while on their way from a successful mission in Sambisa forest.

7. The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, has said that the demands of the 12 lawmakers calling for his impeachment were personal and not for the betterment of the state. This is coming as 14 lawmakers in the Assembly passed a vote of confidence in the Speaker.

8. A former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Kabiru Turaki, has been elected the new National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party. His election was announced on Saturday night by a former lawmaker representing Anambra Central, Senator Ben Obi, at the party’s national convention held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

9. The Edo State Police Command has arrested 21 students of Ogioma Public Secondary School, along Limit Road off Benin-Sapele Road, for suspected cult activities. The PPRO of the command, Moses Yamu, stated in a statement released on Saturday that the students were between 14 and 17 years old.

10. The Joint Military Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace (JTF OPEP), has apprehended a suspected gunrunner and recovered several arms in Plateau State. The suspect, identified as Ishaya Musa, was arrested at the Jebbu Bassa Bypass checkpoint in Bassa Local Government Area on November 14, 2025.
