The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared a nationwide protest over the tariff hike by telecommunication companies.
The NLC revealed in a communique that the protest will be held on Tuesday, February 4.
The communique was issued after the National Administrative Council meeting of the NLC on Wednesday.
According to the NLC, the rally will warn of the dangers of imposing such an unfair increase on a struggling population earning a minimum wage of only ₦70,000.
The labour union lamented that despite the outrageous hike in the price of petrol, high cost of food, hike in electricity tariff and general rising inflation, the population is still being asked to pay more by telecommunication companies.
