On November 11, 2024, the Lagos State Domestic & Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) joined forces with the Child Protection Network (CPN) in Kosofe and Shomolu Local Government Areas to organize a critical sensitization and awareness program in Oworonshoki community.

The event, which held at the Olopomeji underbridge, brought together over 100 children who had dropped out of school.

The aim of the program is to address the pressing issue of out-of-school children in society.

During the event, key stakeholders, including Omoba Rasheed Awofeso and Mrs. Adetoun Edu, SSA to the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government on Widow Affairs, discussed the challenges and consequences of children not attending school.

The focus was to raise awareness as well as find actionable solutions to reintegrate these children into the educational system.

The program underscored the importance of ensuring every child has access to education.
