The Nigerian Army says its troops killed 11 fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Jongo, Sambisa forest, Bama LGA of Borno.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication, said the troops, in conjunction with the civilian joint task force (CJTF), invaded the terrorists’ hideouts on July 5.
The publication said the troops recovered 99 rounds of 7.62mm x 54 ammo links, 19 rounds of 7.62mm x 39 special ammo, three AK-4 rifle magazines, 47 rounds of ammunition, two locally made guns, and two hand grenades.
Zagazola said the military reported no casualties among the troops, adding that one member of the joint force was wounded in action.
In April, the troops discovered a factory where fighters of ISWAP manufacture improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Borno.
