The funeral ceremony for former Ondo Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been held at the St. Andrews Church, Imola Street, Owo, Ondo State.
Akeredolu died on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 67.
The late Governor’s burial commenced on Monday and has been ongoing throughout the week.
Present at the service are prominent Nigerians including Vice President Kashim Shettima; Ondo Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa; All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje; Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun and Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu among many others.
Speaking during the funeral service, Shettima described the late Akeredoluas as a ”remarkable soul and a dedicated individual who cared deeply about the welfare of his people.
”A man whose legacy is edged in the battles he fought on behalf of the people, leaving an indelible footprint on the shores of our shared history”
”There was no point in life where his voice shook in telling his truth” he said.
Interment follows immediately after the funeral Service at the burial site, Owo.
