Good Morning! Here Are Some Major News Headlines In The Newspapers Today: Matawalle: Police comply with court order, return seized vehicles to court premises

1. The Zamfara State Police Command said on Saturday it had returned all vehicles it seized from former governor of the state, Bello Matawalle. The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the development on Saturday via telephone conversation.

2. Gunmen on Saturday kidnapped a Muslim cleric, Alhaji Ibrahim Oyinlade at Asolo Camp in Uso community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. It was gathered that the cleric was working on his farm when hoodlums struck and took him away to an unknown destination.

3. A former governorship candidate and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Tonye Princewill has lost his father, HRM King TJT Princewill, who is the monarch of Kalabari Kingdom. He was one of the longest-serving monarchs in the state.

4. The Department of State Services, DSS, has raised the alarm over the alleged plot to infiltrate its fold for the purpose of using disloyal staff for subversive aims against its leadership. Spokesman of the secret police, Peter Afunanya, said this in a statement, on Saturday.

5. Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto on Saturday directed Muslims to look out for the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah 1444 AH from Sunday. Abubakar, the President General Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) gave the directive in a statement signed by Prof. Sambo Junaidu, Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto.

6. A retired Army Major General, Tajudeen Olanrewaju has asked the police and the Department of State Services, DSS, to invite a Niger Delta ex-militant, Asari Dokubo for questioning over his recent allegation that the military is behind 99 per cent of oil theft in the country. While responding on Saturday, Olanrawaju said the allegation was too weighty not to be taken seriously.

7. Some students on Saturday protested in Gusau, Zamfara State capital, over the abduction of five of their colleagues.
The protesters, who are mainly students of Federal University, Gusau, blocked the Zaria-Sokoto highway, leaving motorists and passengers trapped.

8. The New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, has instructed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to put its house in order ahead of the governorship poll in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa States. NNPP’s National Publicity Secretary, Agbo Major stated this at a press briefing in Abuja on Saturday.

9. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Command, has arrested a staff of Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Balogun Olawale, alongside 47 others for their alleged involvement in internet fraud.

10. A father of four children, Chikwado Obiyor has been reported dead after a sex romp with his married lover, simply identified as Chidinma. Obiyor died after the sex romp, while his lover, who is married to another man, fell into a coma. The incident occurred at Umuchoke Obazu in Imo State.
