The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the Certificate of Return to the member representing Kosofe constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Sanni Ganiu Babatunde Okanlawon.
Hon Okanlawon, better known among his people as OKLA, who contested on the platform of he APC, defeated his closest rivals, the candidates of the Labour Party who came second and the SDP candidate who came a distant third in the keenly contested election.
For Hon Okanlawon, the victory was particularly sweet following the acrimonious campaign by the candidate of the SDP and his supporters who were mostly dissenters from the APC.
All efforts to make see reasons why the party must approach the election with a divided house fell on deaf ears.
But the main structure of the APC in the constituency remained with the lawmaker and worked hard to ensure his victory in the election.
