Following weeks of peace, gunmen on Sunday resumed attacks on security checkpoints in Enugu State, killing two policemen in the process.
The attack happened before 12.00pm at a police checkpoint between Kenyatta Market and the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC) Stadium.
According to a source, the policemen, who were on stop and search, were caught unawares by the gunmen.
A viral video currently trending on social media shows two of the officers lying in a pool of their blood inside gutters.
The Enugu Police Command is yet to issue any statement on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
