Former Enugu State governor Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, has explained why he lost his bid to return to the Senate.

Nnamani, a Senator representing Enugu East, lost to Kevin Chukwu of the Labour Party.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that Chukwu polled 69,136 votes to defeat Nnamani who polled 48,701 votes.

Nnamani on Monday announced that he has left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

On Tuesday, he cited betrayal and sabotage as the reasons he lost the election and a potential opportunity to vie for Senate presidency.

“Enugu people know I can not lose election in “ebeano Country”. I wish Sen. Kelvin Chukwu well,” Nnamani tweeted.

“The real story will follow the conclusion of all the elections. A story of betrayal and sabotage by little minds.Who thought they were killing the dream of a Senate Presidency.”
