The member, Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Kosofe 1 constituency, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, better known as OKLA, has written the constituents to thank them for the huge support he has enjoyed in the last four years.

The suave and experienced lawmaker, who has received accolades from his colleagues and leaders for his robust contribution to the development of Kosofe and the state in general, is not taking the praises for granted and is already girding his loins to make sure that he surpasses his achievements when he eventually clinches the seat to represent the good people of his constituency.

Okanlawon, who is the leading candidate in the election, enjoys a large followership among the people who have been unanimous in the support for his second term.

Among the laudable and unprecedented acchiements recorded by the sound lawmaker in his first term in the hallowed chamber is the facilitation of employments for 78 graduates with the state Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM). Today, those graduates have become part of the lawmaker’s foot soldiers.

Other achievements recorded include: (2) Facilitating and attracting the establishment of the first ever fire station in greater Kosofe, located at the Berger area of Oworonsoki. The beauty of the fire station is that prior to its establishment, the closest fire station to the entire Kosofe and beyond was located at Town Planning, Anthony Village, Lagos.

(3) Instituting education schorlarship for indigent students who are residents of the constituency.

(4) Sponsoring of two bills, both of which have been passed into laws for the smooth running of administrative governance in the state. Again, the beauty of this is that he achieved the feat in his first term in the House. It is those who understand the intrigues of lawmaking that will appreciate this as a huge achievement.

(5) Establishment of a table tennis academy at the Mende area of Maryland, Lagos. The academy no doubt has contributed a great deal in taking our children out of the various vices and turned them to talents and stars that will in the future represent the state and Nigeria in competitions.

(6) His contributions towards youths empowerment in both the arts and science based subjects remain unparallel. His joint venture with Funergy Technologies, has done wonders to the lives of young students in the areas of renewable energy production, installation and marketing.

For the doubters, these are just the few laudable impacting and life-changing projects that this man with a large heart of kindness has to to his name.

But he is not resting on his oars as he has promised to do even more in his second term. The people believe him, the leaders believe him. His records speak for him. No wonder, he is OKLA of the people.
