For Oreoluwa Aina, her dreams shattered and ended even before they took root on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

On that fateful day, Aina, full of life left her home in the Isolo area of Lagos to the Lagos State Government Secretariat, where she was serving as a Youth Corps member.

She never had premonition that she would never return home alive again. With each step she took that dreadful day, she was approaching the land of no return.

Aina, serving with the Lagos State Ministry of Education, boarded the ill-fated BRT, which is the staff bus taking her and about 84 others to the government secretariat.

She never made it to the secretariat alive, her corpse was deposited at the mortuary and all her dreams thwarted and shattered.

All of a sudden, it happened, a loud bang was heard, the BRT she boarded was hit in the middle and dragged by a train to some distance. Unfortunately she was among the unlucky victims, she died!

The BRT had darted into the railway line in a bid to quickly cross the rail at PWD in Ikeja, but the roaring train caught up with it and the rest is history.

On Friday, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu paid the family of the deceased corps member a visit to console with the family.

The governor commiserated with the mother of the deceased at her residence and prayed God to grant her the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss
