The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is leading after the announcement of results of 18 out of the 23 local government areas in Sokoto State with 221, 726 votes.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, follows with 212, 351votes.
The Labour Party candidate, Mr Peter Obi, scored 6, 645 votes.
The State Collation Officer, Prof Kabiru Bala, said the announcement of results of the remaining five local government areas would resume at 9pm.
Also, Tinubu has consolidated his lead in Borno State by clearing 14 LGA results announced by the returning officers so far.
The former Lagos Governor is being trailed by the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
