The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a couple, Busola Oyediran and her partner, Akebiara Emmanuel, for allegedly torturing her two children in the Egbeda/Idimu area of the state.
According to reports, neighbours of the couple who saw them subjecting the minors to torture resulting in the victims sustaining injuries on various parts of their bodies, alerted the police.
The police, upon getting the information, stormed the couple’s residence and arrested them on Friday, January 13, 2023.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of the couple in connection with the assault on the minors.
Meanwhile, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), on its official Twitter page, said the couple will be charge to court on January 16.
“The couple is currently in detention and will be arraigned on Monday 16th of January, 2023,” NAPTIP said.
