A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Abdulsobur Olayiwola Olawale, died on Tuesday, barely 18 days before his daughter’s wedding.
Olawale, popularly known as Omititi, reportedly slumped and died shortly after attending the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally held at Rawang Pam Township Stadium in Jos.
The wedding was scheduled to hold on December 3.
Olawale was a two-term lawmaker representing Mushin constituency II.
He lost his third term bid to a former Sole Administrator of Mushin Local Government, Yinka Esho Kazeem.
Survived by a wife and three children, the 58-year-old was the Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government Services.
He was installed as the Seriki Bobagunwa of Egbaland by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, last year.
Only last week, during a novelty football match to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, Olawale manned the goalpost and seemed very hale and hearty.
It will be recalled that former Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Funminiyi Afuye, died on October 21, after suffering a cardiac arrest.
He died few days before the wedding of his daughter.
