Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers State, on Friday, spoke with the media on the crisis in his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party’s presidential primary election and several other issues.

- I have a very good relationship with my party and that is why I am doing everything possible to make sure our candidates, who have emerged, become victorious in the 2023 elections*

- Ayu knew he was supposed to step down since the Presidential candidate is from the North. Apart from that, Ayu is very very corrupt. Yes. Listen, you are talking to the governor of Rivers State.

- Will Ayu deny he collected N1bn from Lagos from one of the presidential candidates in Lagos? And the money did not enter the account of the PDP Let him say no. I challenge him.*
- If you want to remain a great politician in Nigeria, you must have a shock-absorber. If you don’t have, you will die.
- There was nothing Ayu didn’t do. Manipulation of delegates list during the convention and he even threatened some of the presidential aspirants at that time that if Wike wins, he was going to resign.
- Why do they put pressure on BoT to resign and they cannot tell the Chairman to resign? We have not won election yet and we are showing arrogance. Why? Anyway, I agree they can do without me, but they cannot do without me in my state. If they need me, they know what to do. Since 1999, PDP has not won Yobe State. So, what is the electoral value the governor wants to bring to the table?*

- A PDP Presidential Aspirant gave Ayu N1billion in Lagos and Ayu did not put the money in the PDP account but his personal pocket. I challenge Ayu to deny this so I can name the person that gave him the money.
