Ogun PRP governorship candidate dies one week after winning ticket

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party’s (PRP) in Ogun state, David Bamgbose, is dead.

His death comes a week after he was announced by PRP as its governorship candidate in the state.

He died on Friday at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta, after a brief illness.

According to Oduntan Olayemi, his personal assistant, Bamgbose was complaining of tiredness on Thursday.

“We opted for the state hospital, Lantoro because of the urgency and he was admitted at the emergency ward where he was administered oxygen till today (Friday),” Olayemi said.

“I got back to the hospital this morning and I saw him breathing too fast and heavy.

“I was at where I went to get him some prescribed medication that he has passed on.”

The professor, who was formerly in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is survived by Mary, his wife, and six children.
