No fewer than two people were feared dead following the collapse of a shopping complex in Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

A family living directly opposite the complex said that the structure, which was standing beside Freedom in Christ International Church, Kubwa, collapsed around 11.30 p.m. last Thursday night.

According to the source, the building was near completion as only painting was remaining.

Two ambulance vans seen living the site were said to be conveying the remains of the two dead bodies – a young boy and one ‘baba’ who kept watch over the building – to the morgue.

The bodies were recovered yesterday evening. Rescue workers were seen still searching for more bodies under the rubble, as eyewitnesses believed more people could still be under the rubble.
