Operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have bust a fake Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) centre in Jobi Fele Way, Alausa Business District, Ikeja, Lagos, and arrested four suspects for forgery and impersonating CAC officials.

The police action followed a tip-off, painstaking background check and verification of the suspects.

The suspects are 28-year-old Gloria Ukaegbu; 30-year-old Omolere Kayode; 34-year-old Taiwo Ajayi; 27-year-old Nwachukwu Brenda and 25-year-old Oluwatomisin Adebisi.

Led by the Commander RRS, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Olayinka Egbeyemi, the operatives recovered several forged CAC documents, one Toyota Sienna and a Toyota Matrix used as makeshift offices for their transactions.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police (SP), Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed this development, said preliminary investigation revealed that the syndicate had swindled over hundreds of people through fake CAC registrations.

He stressed that the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, for further investigation and prosecution.
