Princess celebrates Baba Ijesa’s 16-year sentence with praise song

Following the conviction and sentencing to 16 years imprisonment of Olanrewaju Omiyinka a.k.a Baba Ijesha, for child defilement, her colleague, who is also the foster mother of the victim, Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, has taken to her instagram page to celebrate the judgement.

Baba Ijesha was arrested and arraigned before the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court last year after he was caught in an indecent position with a child on camera.

Baba Ijesha faced six counts of child defilement that included indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault by penetration.

Justice Taiwo Oluwatoyin, who delivered the judgement on Thursday, stated that the prosecution failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant was guilty of all the charges against him.

She, however found the defendant guilty of two of the six counts against him and sentenced him to jail for 16 years.

The Post had earlier reported that on count two, he was jailed for three years; count three, five years; count four, three years and sentenced to five years for count five.

Justice Oluwatoyin said the jail terms are to run concurrently for five years.

Princess, after the judgement, took to her Instagram page to celebrate the verdict.

Dressed in a white garment and singing along to a worship song, the actress praised God on a street.

“God is not man,” she wrote in the caption.
