A kidnapper in the custody of the Force Intelligence Bureau’s (FIB) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has said he planned with three others to kidnap his ex-lover in order to raise money to marry her.

Bello Ahmed, 25, resident in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said he arranged to kidnap his lover, Hannah Queen, following the pressure she put on him to marry her.

Others arrested alongside him were Ibrahim Mohammed, 30, Bilyamiyu Mohammed, 30, and Uche Daniel, 30.

It was gathered that Ahmed relocated to Nigeria and rented a three-bedroom apartment in the victim’s estate at Apo, Abuja.

He and the others, now on the run, reportedly executed the kidnap on March 26 at Suniville Estate Apo.

The suspect, it was gathered, staged an invasion of his apartment when the victim visited and made it look as though his accomplices had kidnapped him and his lover.

The victim, a lawyer, was relaxing in the living room when the gang invaded and took her and her lover captive.

Unfortunately for Ahmed and his gang, the victim’s relative, who’s an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), reported her kidnap at the IRT and operatives were immediately deployed to crack the case.

Police sources said that investigation revealed that Ahmed was married and had two children in Dubai, adding that he planned to keep Queen as his second wife.

Ahmed confessed, saying, “My ex-lover put so much pressure on me to marry her and I kidnapped her in order to raise the money I needed. I regret my involvement in the act.”
