There was sporadic shooting on Thursday in Osun State, as gunmen attacked the campaign office of Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.

It was gathered that the sporadic shooting led to panic and pandemonium in the area.

The gunmen were said to be fully armed as they stormed the campaign office located at Coca Cola area of Oshogbo.

According to reports, the gunmen stormed the area around 5:30pm and immediately began shooting into the building.

The invaders were said to have shot at a transformer near the building and a canopy in front of the secretariat which went up in flames.

Aregbesola has been engaged in a running battle with the Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola over the control of the state.

On Wednesday, the bid by supporters of Aregbesola in Osun chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC to overturn the outcome of the ward congresses of the party failed at Federal High Court in Osogbo.

The court, presided over by Justice Emmanuel Ayoola dismissed an application brought before it by the aggrieved APC members, citing lack of jurisdiction.

The Judge ruled that the plaintiffs’ application was not covered by the law and could not be adjudicated by any competent court of law.

Ayoola said the suit brought before the court was strictly party affairs, and the court lacked jurisdiction on the matter.

According to the judge, claim of the plaintiffs is to draw the court to the internal affairs of the party which is not enshrined in the constitution.
