Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has declared Thursday as a work-free day for public and private schools in the state, ahead of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election.
A statement issued by Mr. O.R Ajayi, the Director of Schools, confirmed the development on Wednesday.
Ajayi said all public and private (primary and secondary schools) are to observe the work-free day.
He directed all heads of various schools to ensure compliance with the directive.
The APC governorship primary will hold on Thursday.
The party will be using both primary and secondary school playgrounds as venues for the exercise to select the party’s candidate.
