No respite for Tiwa Savage as Nigerian varsity sets exam question on sex tape

There seems to be no respite in sight for Nigerian hip hop singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, after issues about her leaked sex tape resurfaced again online several months after the sad incident trended on social media.

This time, a question from the singer sex video has appeared in the examination paper of the Federal University, Lafia, Nassarawa State.

In the first-semester examination 2020/2021 academic session of the Federal University, Lafia, Nassarawa State, Faculty of Arts, Department of English and Literary Studies Course code: English 314; Course title: Literature, Popular culture, and Mass media, the question number two reads: “Tiwa Savage’s notorious video trended in 2021. What is the connection between musical lyrics and poetry?”

It will be recalled that the 30-year-old had alleged in 2021 that a blackmailer was asking her to part with money over a sex tape she made with her lover which found its way into his hand.

THE EXAM PAPER

The extortionist eventually released the said tape months later when the talented singer refused to pay the money he demanded.

That infamous moment has now found its way into the citadel of learning.

Social media users are, however divided on the matter as some of them knocked the university for such an act and queried the relevance of the question to students’ all-round development

Others, however, disagreed and argued that the University is at liberty to use such a question because it was a real-life event and students can learn from Savage’s indiscretion.
