Contrary to reports circulating on social media that Olori Naomi, the estranged wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has returned to the palace in Ife, sources in Akure, where the Olori is presently staying, confirmed to The Post on Thursday afternoon that she is still in the Ondo State capital.

One of the sources, a close ally of the queen said elders from Akure are making efforts to reconcile the couple. The source, who does not want to be named, said the Deji of Akure Kingdom and Chairman, Ondo State Council of Obas, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, has also intervened in the crisis.

“She has not returned to Ife. But I know for sure that elders from Akure have met both parties. They also had meetings from Ife. So I am very sure that the matter will be resolved soon,” the source said.

It will be recalled that Olori Naomi had announced her separation from her husband on her social media accounts following certain differences between them.

Reports of the queen returning to the palace have sprung up on social media platforms late Wedsneday, with several people and bloggers feasting on it.

A report by The PUNCH on Thursday also qouted the palace as saying, “both parties have been persuaded to return but no feedback yet from one of them. The last time we heard from them, they said the family will meet and decide.”
