An armed robbery suspect, Biodun Rasheed, who disguised as a Fulani herdsman to rob at Mile 6, along Ajebo road, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has been arrested by the police.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who made the disclosure, said Rasheed was arrested on Wednesday after a distress call was received by policemen attached to Kemta division at about 3:30 am.
The DPO of Kemta division, CSP Opebiyi Sunday, while reacting to the distress call, mobilized his men, who were joined by men of the So-Safe Corps and those of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and moved to the scene.
Oyeyemi said the suspects fled when they sighted the security men, saying, however, that they were chased and “Biodun Rasheed, who dressed like a Fulani herdsman to hide his identity was arrested on the spot.”
The State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, said the suspect will be taken to state CIID for discreet investigation, warning criminals to relocate, as Ogun would “be very hot for them henceforth.”
