Super Eagles: See the huge sum Gernot Rohr will earn if sacked

It has been revealed that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will pay Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, more than N600 million in compensation if they sack him.

Reports had emerged online on Thursday morning that the NFF had sacked Rohr following Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier 1-1 draw with Cape Verde in Lagos.

But the NFF’s Assistant Director, Media, Ademola Olajire, denied refuted the story.

Olajire insisted that it’s only after a board meeting of the NFF that Rohr’s sack could be authenticated.

Rohr has been in charge of the Super Eagles since 2016.

The Franco-German tactician led Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup with a game to spare.

He also repeated the same feat for 2019 AFCON, finishing in third place after Nigeria defeated Tunisia 1-0, thanks to Odion Ighalo’s early goal.

His new deal with the Super Eagles will expire after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

However, the financial implication of sacking Rohr now is that he will get a payoff of over N600 million because he pays his coaching staff from his salary.

Rohr gets $45,000 per month as salary and has one and half years still to go on his contract..
