Revenue collectors beat motorcyclist to death over N100 ticket in Ibadan

A yet-to-be-identified motorcyclist has been allegedly killed by some revenue collectors in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

According to reports, the motorcyclist was allegedly beaten to death by the revenue collectors who are officials of Oyo State Park Management System.

It was gathered that the motorcyclist was beaten to death for allegedly refusing to pay N100 daily ticket.

The incident occurred at the Queen Cinema area of Ibadan on Wednesday.

Trouble started when one of the revenue collectors flagged down the motorcyclist and asked him to purchase the N100 daily ticket.

The refusal of the motorcyclist to pay for the ticket due to shortage of cash made the revenue collectors to descend on him, according to eyewitnesses.

Sources informed that the revenue collector and the motorcyclist engaged in verbal abuses which drew the attention of two other revenue collectors to the scene.

In the process, the revenue collectors started beating the motorcyclist and when he retaliated, one of them gave the motorcyclist a blow which made him to fall on the ground.

It was further revealed that other motorcyclists descended on the revenue collectors and gave one of them injuries on one of his eyes.

It however, took the intervention of a team of patrol policemen from Mokola Division to avert further bloodletting.
