Lawmakers in the Imo State House of Assembly have urged Governor Hope Uzodinma to arrest the killers of two traditional rulers in the state.

The legislature made the call on Thursday following a motion by Uju Onwudiwe, Njaba constituency representative.

The lawmaker called for financial and medical support for victims that sustained injuries.

Onwudiwe demanded a thorough investigation into the attack and advised the governor to “immortalise” the monarchs.

She tasked the 27 local government chairmen to hold a security meeting with stakeholders.

Deputy Speaker Amarachi Iwuanyanwu said the House was determined to ensure justice was served.

Ekene Nnodumele, Orsu representative, charged the government to take further steps against criminality in Imo.

The Speaker, Paul Emeziem, ruled in favour of the motion by Onwudiwe.

On October 19 at Nnenasa in Njaba, gunmen fatally shot Eze Anayo Duruebere of Okwudor Autonomous Community and Eze Sampson Osunwa of Ihebinowerre Autonomous Community.
