Armed robbers kill UI final year student in Ibadan, another killed by hit and run driver

A final year student of University of Ibadan, one Ridwan Adebayo, has been allegedly killed by armed robbers in Ibadan.

According to reports, Adebayo, a final year student of the Department of History, Faculty of Arts, was killed on Sunday.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Preboye Complex in Ibadan. The complex is few metres to the first gate of the university.

It was gathered that the armed robbers collected the deceased phone before he was shot.

All efforts to save his life of were said to have failed, as he died on the way to the hospital.

In a related development, a 200-level student of the institution in the department of Microbiology, Oluwaseun Adeyemo has also died as a result of injury she sustained when she was hit by a car on Sunday.

The incident occurred along the UI-Sango Road on Sunday.

Her death, it was reported came few hours after that of Ridwan Adebayo who was killed by armed robbers.

Adeyemo died as a result of injury she sustained when she was hit by a car.

Director of communication in the University, Mr. Tunji Oladejo confirmed the death of Adeyemo on Sunday evening.

He added that the matter has been reported at Sango police division.

Oladejo said, “it is another dark Sunday as our 200-Level Student of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science, Miss Oluwaseun Ayomide Adeyemo, died due to injury she sustained from a road accident when she was hit by a fast moving vehicle driven by a fellow who lost control.

“The driver was said to be a student of the University of Ilorin. The accident occurred in front of Mobil Petrol Station on Ojo/UI Road.

“The corpse of the late Miss Adeyemo has been deposited at the Department of Anatomy of the University.

“The matter is being investigated by the Sanngo Police Division of the Oyo State Police Command”
