Armed bandits have attacked the Goronyo market in the Goronyo Local Government Area, Eastern Senatorial District of Sokoto State, killing an unspecified number of persons.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday night when the armed men invaded the market in large numbers with guns blazing, killing many unfortunate villagers doing business at the time.
However, the number of causalities could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
The incident marks the third time in two weeks that armed bandits attacked village markets in the state amid military operations in the area.
Less than two weeks ago, no fewer than 20 persons were killed when the assailants attacked the Ungwan Lalle market in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of the state.
