Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a 42-year-old man with a locally-made single-barreled gun concealed in a bag of garri.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this, also said the Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Ali, warned officers and men of the command to desist from all forms of corruption and incivility to members of the public.
He said, “On October 10, 2021, a patrol team attached to the Ovwian Aladja Police Division while on stop-and-search duty intercepted a commercial bus carrying some passengers.
“The operatives, upon searching the passengers, recovered one locally-made single-barrelled gun concealed in a bag of garri.
“The suspect, Pigi Kelvin, aged 42, of Ututuoama town, Ughelli South LGA, was arrested. Investigation is ongoing.”
