The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has submitted an interim report on the crashed Air Force aircraft, King Air 350, killing then chief of army staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 others.

Details of the report have not yet been made public.

Presenting the report to the Chief of Air Staff, Isyaka Amao, on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of AIB, Akin Olateru, said the report contained 27 findings and eight recommendations for immediate implementation.

Recall that air force aircraft conveying Attahiru and other senior officers of the army crashed around Kaduna airport. About five of the occupants were army generals.

Although the statement, jointly signed by Edward Gabkwet, the air force spokesperson, and his AIB counterpart, Tunji Oketunbi, did not contain the details of the recommendations, the statement said the report is organised into three sections.

“The submitted report is organized into three sections namely; the information obtained in the course of the investigation; analysis of data collected in view of the Board’s Terms of Reference; and the conclusion, which covers the initial findings and immediate recommendations,” it read.

The statement also said the final report will contain more detailed information.
