COVID-19: Nigeria records 17 deaths, 597 cases Tuesday

The coronavirus pandemic has continued to ravage Nigeria as 17 deaths were recorded on Tuesday with additional 597 fresh cases reported across 13 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The 597 fresh cases represent a rise from the 379 cases reported the previous day.

Of this figures, Lagos topped the chat with 204 cases, up from the 138 cases it raked in on Monday.

Rivers recorded 89 cases, while Edo posted 65 cases and the FCT, 50 cases.

This takes Nigeria’s total confirmed COVID-19 cases to 196,487, with survivors 185,159 discharged.

Total deaths now stand at 2,573 after adding Tuesday’s 17 deaths.
