28 of 118 Bethel Baptist High School students still being held freed by bandits

There is joy in the homes of  the parents of  some of the abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi, Kaduna, with the release  28 students.

A total of 121 students were abducted from their hostels by bandits on July 5.

It was, however, gathered that only 28 of the 118 that remained in kidnappers’ den were released on Sunday.

The Nigerian Baptist Convention had approached some of its churches in order to raise the ransom demanded by bandits for the release of some students abducted from Bethel Baptist High School in Kaduna State.

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State Chapter, Joseph Hayab, said while 28 students were freed by the bandits, the remaining were still being awaited.

The abduction was the fourth mass abduction in the state over the past six months.

Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said the students had been taken to a medical facility.
