As part of the activities lined up to mark her birthday, popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Dayo Amusa, on Thursday visited the Nigeria Correctional Service, Ikoyi, where she distributed food items to inmates.
The gesture, which she has been doing for over a decade, is designed to put smiles on the faces of the inmates.
The program was organised on the platform of Dayo Amusa Foundation Outreach.
Amusa, who has made it a routine for over ten years, said it is born out of the love to give to the less privileged persons across the nation and beyond.
“Over a decade, I love spending my moment of celebration with the less privileged and this is no exception,” said Amusa.
“My main aim is to put smiles on the faces of the inmates and those that might have been forgotten by their family and society.”
She continues: “I believe It is important to show love and care to the inmates, their freedom may be restricted for a period of time but they are still citizens of this country and might regain their freedom someday. I felt the need to make them happy and celebrate the Ileya Festival / and my birthday with the.
“I believe the donation will go a long way to ameliorate the condition of the inmates,” Amusa said on the impact her visit.
