Following the resolution of the council of Baales and other indigenes of Imobi, including the Imobi Development Union and Imobi Sons and Daughters, a self- imposed monarch , Hassan Goriola has vacated the exalted office.

His decision followed a resolution by the people of the town to Goriola from parading himself as a monarch and to vacate the township maternity building which he had converted to his palace, the self imposed king has vacated the building.

Sources in the town confirmed to The Post that Mr. Goriola has vacated the building as at the time of filing this report. He was, however said to have removed all the electrical fittings, POP, windows and other fittings he installed in the building, leaving the building empty.

He was further warned by the council never to parade himself as a monarch in the community or organise any social event in the town with any insignia of an Oba.

Below is the resolution of the meeting:

*RESOLUTIONS IN RESPECT OF THE MEETING HELD AT FOTEDO ON THURSDAY 8TH JULY 2021 BY 1PM AT THE* *INSTANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF IMOBI BAALES*

1) The house resolved that the title of Olu of Imobi Kingdom does not exist and is not know in Imobi Town

2) The house resolved and named the old Dispensary building at Fotedo as IMOBI BAALES Secretariat

3) The house directed Mr. Goriola Hassan to remove all his personal effects from the building aforesaid in 2 above

4) The house directed Mr. Goriola Hassan to stop effective 8/7/2021 from parading himself as an Oba in Imobi Town and stop all social and mainstream media posting in respect of same

5) With immediate effect the house directed Mr. Goriola Hassan not to organise any Social gathering in Imobi Town with OBASHIP title

6) The house enjoined all Imobi indigenes and residents to continue living in peace and brotherly love.

Further to the foregoing, a committee of IDU and ISD is to meet after Ileya 2021 festival on the Obaship issue and passed their recommendations to the council of IMOBI BAALES for implementation.
